A Message from the Candidate:

 I feel that it is important for everyone who is interested in my race to understand why I have chosen to run for the State Senate here in the 49th District. I have lived in Erie County my entire life. I married here and I have raised a family here, and I have watched as our jobs left, our unions shrunk, and our economy faltered. I feel that there is so much that can be done, not just for Erie County, but for all of Pennsylvania. 

As Senator for the 49th District I would be an advocate for the common sense solutions we need to rebuild the economy of our region and our state. There is a lot to be done, but I am ready to roll up my sleeves and get to work. As your Senator I will work hard for working Pennsylvanians in the following ways:

1.) I will fight to pass Health Care reform that would result in Single Payer Health Care covering all Pennsylvanians. There are bills in the House and Senate right now that could accomplish this and we must put in the work necessary to get them ready for the Governor's signature.

2.) I will oppose any legislation that would adversely affect the ability of Unions to be affective advocates for their membership. This includes my staunch opposition to the Right to Work (for less) Legislation that my opponent has sponosored. I will also sign on to any effort to pass, on the state level, the Employee Free Choice Act and I will call on our Congressmen to support this legislation on the Federal level.

3.) I will support expanding Pre-K education throughout the state and specifically in rural and urban areas and expanding our Science and Mathematics programs so that our state will have an educated work force that is able to compete for new jobs in the global marketplace.

4.) I will work for legislation that will create a living wage for all working Pennsylvanians. I believe that all full time workers should earn a wage that insures that they will not have to worry about living in poverty or where their next meal may come from.

 It is my belief that by coming together and working hard for the commonsense solutions we need we can build a brighter future for all of Pennsylvania and will ultimately serve as an example for what can be accomplished by advocating for the changes we know we need. That is why I am running for the State Senate and that is why I need your support both now and on Election Day. Thank you!
